No Fixed Address — Lucius Bluenote Carter
No Fixed Address takes Lucius Bluenote Carter somewhere new, blending psychedelic soul, deep house and disco-funk into a hypnotic five-minute groove. A driving rhythm section, elastic bass, funk guitar, Rhodes and shifting electronic textures create a constantly moving backdrop while Lucius's tenor saxophone appears in measured, expressive phrases rather than dominating the arrangement.
There is no destination and no story to explain — just movement. The groove keeps travelling, the textures change around it, and the saxophone becomes another traveller passing through. It's a looser, more rhythm-driven side of Lucius, built as much for the body as the late-night listening room.
