Where it All Began
The spark behind Sessions on the Green — from quiet beginnings shared with close collaborators, to a body of work shaped by mood, story, and sound.
It wasn’t a business plan.
There was no whiteboard, no launch party, no logo.
Just an evening — soft breeze, fading sun, an open bottle, a quiet voice, a keyboard within reach.
Something happened. A sound took shape.
Sessions on the Green began not as a project, but as a feeling.

Sessions on the Green grew quietly. There was no moment when we decided to create a label or build a catalogue. One song led to another. One voice suggested another kind of song. Different people brought different ideas, instincts and possibilities into the room.
As the music developed, so did the studio. Some recordings grew from the voices of real performers and collaborators. Some of those people love making music but have little interest in stages, touring or becoming public figures. Sessions on the Green gave them somewhere the recording could matter more than the spotlight.
Other songs seemed to ask for voices and personalities that didn't yet exist within our circle. That opened another door — recording characters and musical identities created around the needs of the song, much as writers, filmmakers and composers have always created characters through whom stories can be told.
Technology expanded what became possible, but it never replaced the reason for doing it. The tools changed. The choices remained ours — what to write, what to keep, what to reject, what to reshape, and when to stop.
What began quite humbly gradually became Sessions on the Green®: a studio, a catalogue, a collection of voices and characters, and above all, a place for stories told through sound.

The Origins of Sessions on the Green
Creativity has a habit of travelling through families, although it rarely takes the same form twice.
Sessions on the Green® may be built around the studio, but the next generation has taken music somewhere very different. Peter’s daughter, Baby.J, is an international DJ, singer and performer whose world is live audiences, festivals, travel and the energy of the stage.
The music may be different. The setting certainly is. But underneath it is something familiar — the instinct to create, to communicate, and to find your own way of doing it.
Different generation. Different stage. Same creative thread.
