Where the Silence Goes (After The Mist) unfolds less like a conventional song than a suspended moment of reflection. Built around fragments of language and gently recurring wordless sounds, it asks a simple, haunting question: where does the silence go when we are gone? From that thought emerges a meditation on presence, absence and the quiet significance of having shared even a little time with another person.

Parichad's vocal moves between intimate phrases and ethereal, wordless passages, allowing sounds such as “Eya”, “Ahh” and “Ooh” to carry emotion without needing to define it. Sparse piano and distant cello inhabit an expansive cinematic space while layers of female voices gradually emerge, widen and become luminous. Rather than driving towards a conventional chorus, the music breathes, leaving silence and space as essential parts of the performance.

At its emotional centre are three extraordinarily simple statements: “I was here / You were here / That is enough.” They give the surrounding atmosphere a quiet human weight before the voices rise into a vast, largely wordless passage and finally dissolve. The ending returns to intimacy — a lingering invitation to stay only a little while before voice, sound and silence become almost indistinguishable.
