A New Violette Valois Album — Les Heures Vagabondes

We’re delighted to announce the second Violette Valois album, Les Heures Vagabondes, now available to order on vinyl and CD.

Unlike an album built around a single story or theme, Les Heures Vagabondes brings together ten quite different songs — contemporary French pop, chanson, touches of jazz, intimate reflections and glimpses of everyday life. That variety is precisely what we wanted to preserve. Each song has its own character and its own little world.

The title translates roughly as “The Wandering Hours”, and while it wasn’t conceived as a concept album, we loved the name because it seemed to belong naturally to this collection.

For the artwork, we wanted something completely different from Violette’s first album, Fragments d’un Même Souffle. We imagined an old artist’s sketchbook discovered somewhere in Paris — pages filled over time with drawings, handwritten thoughts, scraps of paper, watercolour, places visited and moments remembered. 
The result is a sleeve that we think feels as much like a little piece of French art as an album cover.

And this one really deserves to be held in your hands. ❤️
