A lot of people ask why so much of the music here is instrumental, or why the vocals are often restrained, almost conversational.

The simple answer is that words tend to close things down.

Once something is fully explained, it leaves less room for the listener to bring themselves into it. The meaning becomes fixed. Defined. Finished.

But most of what matters in life isn’t like that.

It sits somewhere between things. Between clarity and uncertainty. Between presence and absence. Between what’s said and what isn’t.

Music, when it’s allowed to stay open, can hold that space.

A note can mean one thing to one person and something entirely different to another, and both can be true without contradiction. That’s not confusion — it’s freedom.

So the restraint isn’t about holding back.

It’s about leaving enough room for something else to enter.
