The Stillness After the Music

There’s a moment after a piece finishes where nothing happens.

No sound. No continuation. Just a brief stillness.

That moment matters more than it might seem.

Because whatever the music was going to do, it’s already done it by then. What remains is whatever has settled with the listener.

Sometimes it’s a feeling. Sometimes just a slight shift in mood. Sometimes nothing obvious at all.

But often, without realising it, people go back and play it again.

Not because they were told to. Not because they analysed it.

Just because something stayed.

And that, more than anything else, is the intention behind all of this.
